OUR TEAM

We are a team of people who love Pilates and GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®. We have personally benefitted from practising these movements ourselves. And we would love to share our knowledge and experience with you. Our team are all Polestar Pilates certified and each one of us are constantly improving our knowledge in the movement area. 

GAN YEE FEN

Gan started her journey as a young ballerina, moved on to teaching ballet and delved further into the movement world through her qualifications in Polestar Pilates comprehensive studio series and Mat, GYROKINESIS® and GYROTONIC®. To complement her knowledge in movement therapy, Gan further pursued her knowledge in manual therapy and is also certified in Rolfing and in Biodynamic Cranialsacral Therapy.

A place to know more about movement education. It's more than just a workout.

Any tips for newbies?

Be open-minded. There's more possibility for a change.

Too many to share. Just name it and I can likely do it.

ONG HOOI KOON

Also from the movement background, Ong started as a young ballerina, immersed herself in the world of dance, and became a Royal Academy of Dance teacher for many years. As a movement enthusiast, she moved on to getting herself certified in Polestar Pilates comprehensive studio series and Mat, GYROKINESIS® and GYROTONIC®. Ong, also a certified Rolfer, believes that both manual and movement therapy complement each other and is passionate about sharing her experience in healthy lifestyle strategies and injury prevention.

LIM YIN CHING

Unlike Gan and Ong, Yin Ching came from a different background. Corporate worker with little body awareness, Yin Ching visited a chiropractor after the birth of her second child. Found out about her scoliosis, misalignment in her posture and stiffness especially in her spine, she decided to try out Pilates as advised by her chiropractor. And that was the start of her journey into the movement world. She’s now certified in Polestar Pilates comprehensive studio series and Polestar Mat. And is currently pursuing her journey into GYROTONIC®. 

 

Favourite thing about Beyond Movement?

Everything about it! 

 

Any tips for newbies?

Give it a try. And do it twice a week. Persevere and be patient. You’ll start to feel really good. 

 

Any guilty pleasure?

Shopping for way too many active wear. 

ADELAINE HOH

Adelaine has been composing music professionally for 20 years. In early 2015, she had her first class in Pilates and that was the start of her journey into Pilates. She loves how the movement re-energies her mind as well as her body. By practising Pilates, she experienced the benefit herself and saw tremendous improvement in her joints issue and in her postural alignment. This inspired her to pursue further to become an instructor and she is now a Certified Polestar Pilates Mat Instructor. She is currently deepening her knowledge with the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Studio Series.

A dynamic , motivational and inspiring movement studio for body and mind.

CHLOE CHIN

Chloe has years of teaching experience in the dance field. Combined with her passion for Pilates and her teaching background , she is set to provide an enhanced, simplified learning experience. She is a certified Polestar Pilates Mat instructor and is currently pursuing her Polestar Comprehensive Studio certification. Being an avid athlete and outgoing person she is, Chloe holds a strong belief in leading a balanced, happy life through having a positive mind and physical health. As with most beliefs, these two are inextricably intertwined. A happy life starts from here.

Any tips for newbies?
Taking a deep breath is all you need when you feel suffocated. And yes, laughter is the next best medicine too!

Any guilty pleasure?

Sitting for too long, wine and banana cake 

Christine is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, mountain biking and trail running. Her journey into Pilates started as she was looking for a form of active rehabilitation from injuries sustained and better alignment from desk-bound posture. Pilates has been a means for her to find center and reconnect to her body, and she finds enjoyment in sharing this with others as she believes that being able to move with freedom and ease enriches one's life greatly. Christine is a certified mat work instructor through Polestar Pilates, and is currently pursuing the studio certification.

It's okay if you don't understand much when you first start. Allow your body time - it will feel the difference and thank you for it
